Long, long ago,
In one tiny corner of a vast sea,
A tiny creature drifted into the light,
Felt the warmth of the sun,
and began to sing.
The song was so beautiful,
It swept across the ocean,
As fast as waves and tides.
Filling the sea with Joy.
The song was so beautiful,
No ocean could contain it.
It came to the land,
To bright sun and sweet rain.
The song, so beautiful,
No species could contain it,
Moving from moss to grass to tree,
From frog to squirrel, fish to fowl,
And now to you and me.
The Song of Life is everwhere,
Highest mountain, deepest sea.
This Our Chance to hear it,
This Our Chance to sing.
From neighbor to neighbor,
From parent to child,
From nation to nation,
We share the notes that we carry.
